True he does have a higher mileage engine. I just find it funny when people add a ton of power using the stock internals. Especially when they have over 100k miles. They are not exactly made to withstand a lot of added power.

You don't have any mods to list yet accept for the exhaust.
Go the route of a CAI, SCT Tuner, and Ford Racing Gears.

it really depends on your tune and how well the motor was maintained, 300-350 rwhp with a conservative tune isnt that much stress on the motor, if your looking for much more then that then you obviously dont care about what your spending and going to do it any ways

VMP used to have a car running 450 rwhp on a junkyard 3.8 but I havent heard anything about it in a few years

I suggest a $1000 race wing for improved grip.

Just kidding.

The previous owner of my car put on dual exhaust, larger fuel injectors, and a more aggressive cam. soon after that he bent a piston rod connector and thats how I got a cheap mustang.

Our Mustang shop here in Northern Virginia just comes close to saying they won't install Motive gears. They highly recommend Ford gears and a bearing kit when upgrading to higher ratio gears. I've only had this set in my car so I can't say myself but those who install them regularly and have to warranty the work say that there are so many less issues with Ford as apposed to Richmond or Motive or Strange gear sets. I respect the shop. Never heard them give me similar advice on any other mod before so I try to share helpful info. I'm sure Motive makes good parts around the world or they wouldn't be in business.
Just my opinion & FYI if it helps.

richmond gears are straight cut so they will wine on install, ive had motives in my third gen, and in both axles on my old toyota as well has had a set for the stang before i sold it and never had an issue with any of them. and as I said, motive makes the gears for ford, and there about $60 cheaper on AM (or they were when i baught mine years ago). IF a shop told me they were not sure about doing an install because of the brand of gears I would probably not let that shop touch the diff

I would go with an SCT tuner and maybe some new rear gears. When you get the tuner from AM you get free custom tunes, you could put in all your upgrades and really get a nice hp pick up.
