Im seeing ~200 lbs, every 100 lbs = 1 tenth in the quarter (which equals about one car length. not much but still a differance, )unless if you consider a car length a respectable win)
curb weight 05 mustang = 3450
curb weight 04 = 3250
torque is 225 vs 240, not that much of a differance, he asked what to do with his car, if he wanted to trade it in A. he would of asked about an upgrade in which case B.) he could find a mach for the same price as a s197 v6 which im sure he would be alot happier with. the 4.0 is pretty much the same as the 3.8, it is the bottom of the barrel base model mustang, you should go tell the fox 5.0 guys to upgrade to the 4.0s, after all you only have 10 less hp or just go back to the s197 section with the rest of the morons with your over inflated egos
fastest way to get a v6 other then the 3.7 to run a quarter mile is either push it off a cliff or tow it behind my PSD, but that really doesnt matter because all in all the OP wanted to know what to do to his 200o V6........

And I gave my opinion like everyone else did. The rest of you just continued with it. And I am very curious where you are getting 3450 lbs for a 2005 V6. Every book I own says 3300.
I also checked again on the 2000's weight: 3064 lbs. So there is a 236 pound difference.
Still... It's only an opinion. It's not wrong.

I will say that this sounds pretty bad *** though. This is where that extra money should definitely be put!

he wants to put it in his 2000 v6.....he could buy a mach for the same price as a 05 v6, or a NA cobra, or a LS1, or a 5.0 and spend the left over on hookers and blow
catted H is better

It's SLP. They suck. And I will admit that the 4.0 is much harder to find a good exhaust for, but when you find the right one... Hell Yea! And yes I know he wants to put it in his 2000; I found a 1999 one that sounded good: same car internally.
You also compared with two different exhausts. Next time compare it with the same brand and dual for dual, not single and dual.
