Default exhaust help

for some reason i cant find a catted h-pipe made for a 99 v6 mustang, so i figured if i bought an off road h-pipe and added catts to it i could still get that h-pipe sound and pass testing. but before i put out a few hundred dollars can some one tell me if all these parts will fit together?

if you have any suggestions for different parts or anything please let me know, im just trying to keep the cost down as much as possible, thank you in advance for any feedback.

Alright man, there is not necessarily an h pipe just for v6's, the gt h pipes will work, becuz when you use an h pipe all you do is cut and then weld it in so this h pipe would work i am pretty sure, although its a shorty

if this wont work, someone else will tell ya, but im pretty sure u can make it work

GT mid pipes will not work without a LOT of modification. Mid pipes are designed to bolt in from the manifolds to the cat back without cutting and welding.

Due to the firing order of the pushrod V6, there is no variation in sound between X/H/split dual exhaust. Tone will come from motor build, cats, muffler style and pipe diameter.

Really, there is no real power gain going to a true dual exhaust vs just doing a Y pipe back set up unless you are pushing 350 hp or so. I can show you several kits that will bolt up in an hour or so if you chose that route.

If you REALLY want the H pipe, I highly suggest the Mac H pipe (comes 2 1/2"), then weld in cats. Personally I like that Magnaflow "Hi Flow" versions.

+1000 to what Matt said.

The GT Midpipe can be modified to fit if you have your muffler shop do it, doing it on your own will be a very large undertaking if Exhaust is not your day job.

When I had my O/R X modded they said it was straight forware, but a factory catted mid might be more of a problem because the first cat is so close to the flange.

btw, you need flow tubes also for the mufflers if your making your own catback.
They are the spanning tubes that weld or slip onto the mufflers and have flanges that bolt to the midpipe.

the only real reason i wanted an h-pipe was because i herd it gives a more aggressive sound and figured that would just add to the sound of the cherry bomb mufflers. i planed on upgrading the motor eventually so should i just go with an x or h pipe to save money in the future or should i just go with the y pipe and the cherry bomb mufflers? my main goal for now is sound but latter down the road ill want power. whats your opinion? and thanks to everyone one who replied

Personally, I'd just go Y pipe back for now. If you get to the point later that you need to open up the exhaust more, take that step then. If you take out too much restriction, it will actually cost you hp right now.
