Brake write-up
Hey everyone, its time for some new brakes for the stang and I want to do them myself. I haven't really done much work on cars (I'm 19), but after installing my own stereo system two months ago I found that its much more satisfying to do work on my own (not to mention it saves a ton on labor).
Does anyone know of any write ups for changing brakes on 99-04 sixxers? Or does anyone want to do a write up? Also, where would you guys reccomend getting parts. I've heard that some of the auto parts chain stores don't have quality parts. I appreciate the help.

Best write up is in the factory service manual. Got everything you need and much much more. Will pay for itself with this job alone. Contact ford for a new one, or search on eBay. Avoid Chiltons/Haynes manuals. They are the cliffs notes of manuals. They give you an ok overview of the job, but when it gets down to it lacks the specifics that would make jobs go so much easier...
As for parts, local auto parts stores have some good parts. Depends on the part, though. rockauto.com is a good place.
Good luck...

I just did the same thing with my 2009. Had to replace rotors and pads. Very simple, slightly time consuming. Altough, with just pads, shouldn't be too bad. Google "changing brake pads on xxxx mustang" and you'll find things you need.
Basically you take off the caliper (mine used 12 and 13 mm bolts) then slide the pads out, push the caliper piston in, slide new pads in and then bolt the caliper back on.
Word of advice, take the Master Cylinder cap off to relieve pressure when resetting pistons, and take some of the fluid out so it sits about 1/2 to 3/4 full.
Rear piston tool you can rent at autozone for free
