with an issue like this you must eliminate issues one at a time until you find the bad apple.

How many miles on the car? How is the car driven? (fast, slow, hard high revving?) does it only have a issue on high load circumstances? what kinda of tools do you have access to?[/QUOTE]

a flashing service engine light is a misfire detected. so look for something that can cause a misfire

Tried numerous things man, tried new plugs, plug wires, coil pack, alternator, battery. i've been told that when your cats get plugged up they can cause almost a backfire and that tells the brain that your having a missfire. could be going crazy, im not sure. just don't wanna run it like this. thanks for the reply.

Not sure how that would happen. But if a cat was that clogged it would throw a O2 sensor code that the cat isn't performing properly.

It has previously thrown a code for it. I'm gonna bring it to a friend who knows a little more about this type of stuff
