Default FYI: Eibach Pro Springs + Tokico Blues = Crap

Just thought I'd share my opinion of the commonly advocated setup of Eibach springs and Tokico Blues. This set up is always recommended to people on this site as a way to improve ride quality and handling at an affordable cost. In fact, that is the reason I originally bought that setup. However, this setup is TERRIBLE!!!

The ride is crap, the handling is improved only slightly, and the lifespan of the shocks/struts was short lived.

I now have the Eibach Pro-System plus (Springs, shocks/struts, sway bars), and it is absolutely great! Handel's awesome, rides smooth, and has a million mile warranty.

I hope this helps some of you make more informed decisions!!!

How long is "short lived"? Curious as I've never seen/heard of problems with that set up.

In this case, it was approximately 30,000.

I'm not surprised that you've never read anything negative. Most threads speak highly of the Eibach-Tokico setup. I have searched other forums and found negative reviews about the poor ride quality, but I've never read about the life-span.

That's odd. I run T-Blues on the black car. The Roush springs back then are comparible to the Pro kit for ride height... funny they failed so quickly on your set up.

Yeah something is wrong here, several guys here auto-x mustangs with that setup and daily drive them as well with no problems.

The ride quality isn't "great" but your in a mustang not a bmw.

I've had the same experience with my HR SS springs and tokico HP's as well. Ride quality was terrible and got worst fast. I ended up with FR C springs and bilstein HDs later on. However I still have the tokico blues and HR springs sitting on my bedroom floor for the past year, maybe I can do some testing to the struts and ffigure out why mine failed too.

I also had another thread about mine. After testing my struts I came to the end tthat something caused them to fail quickly. Maybe it had lost gas or something because the back shocks were fine and are still good. My springs seem to be ok now, but the full weight of the front end had rested on the springs for a long time.

I will update what I find out about the struts when I am home

really curious i had tokico blues with b&g springs on my civic before and it road just fine, wish it was a bit stiffer. not planning to get blues for my mustang but really curious why they road terrible

http://farnorthracing.com/autocross_secrets18.html good read as far as dampers go.

I had the same setup. I posted several times that the ride was not improved at all if not a little rougher than stock. However the handling did improve for sure, there are definitely better setups out there though. I can't speak to the lifespan issue, mine were on my car 10-15k miles before i sold it.

Pretty much any lowered Sn-95 Mustang won't have the greatest ride quality but as stated its a Mustang not a Cadillac or BMW.

Now with the life span that was either caused by a manufacturer defect or installer error.
