BLOWING OFF A FUSE (15A)
Please help me figure this out. Why does this fuse blows off??? This 15A fuse and what the fuse box diagram says that it might be the STOP LAMPS, HAZARD WARNING LAMPS, SPEED CONTROL OR THE 3RD BRAKE LAMP.
How can I pin point which one to replace. Please advise and thanks in advance.

What number fuse is it? Location number, not size.

It says #1 on the fuse box diagram.

On my '02 #1 is the cigarette lighter, what do you have plugged in to it?

On my 98 V6, #1 might be: 1. STOP LAMPS, 2. HAZARD WARNING LAMPS, 3. SPEED CONTROL OR THE 3RD BRAKE LAMP. I don't know which one is causing the problem.

DO you have any after market lights in your car? Headlights, taillights, anything like that?

I have an after market headlights. But when the fuse goes bad the headlights are still working. The rear defroster and the turn signals doesn't work when the fuse goes bad and also the airbag light is always on.

That I don't know. I got a pair of Sylvania xtravision lights from Kragen and they told me that this is perfect for my mustang 98 V6.
I installed them yesterday including new signal lamps and I am waiting if the fuse would still go bad but so far so good.

well hopefully it will work from now on. you can always put a little bigger fuse in but then you are at risk of doing damage to your car.
