Depends on how it goes on the stand. if everything turns freely and looks in good condition I might just run it as is. I need to get this thing in fast before winter hits. Depending on how my bare block is, I might just use that over the winter to build something more supercharger friendly

Yeah haha I sure diiddd. Ordered that block and in the meantime I'm going to recondition those heads and do some gasket matching with my fancy new dremel.

Reconditioning these heads and I'm seeing more and more that they're still in pretty good condition. All valve guides are at least visibly good condition and all valves are smooth on seated edge still and none are bent or scored. Spent the better part of an hour VERY CAREFULLY scraping the hard carbon deposits from the intake valves. Rocker arms were soaked and wiped down and look brand new again. Bare heads are soaking now, update on those in the morning. Other than lapping the valve seats during re-installation and adding assembly lube to all contact points what other tips can some of you veterans give me? any help would be greatly appreciated
