Default 4.2 Build Issue

Alright, for the most part this 4.2 build has gone off without a hitch! Block arrived at the house and is disassembled and labeled and ready for rehoning, new rings, new bearings, and re-assembly... Once the rings, bearings, and gaskets arrive.

BUT on another note!, I am being told that to use the 2001 4.2 block I will have to buy the ASP UDP and am not able to use my stock crank pulley from the 01 3.8??? Is this true?? That's a huge bump in price for this build if I have to go drop ~250 big ones on just a crank pulley. Just want to make sure with some of the guys who have done this before I go spend the money

BUMP One more small Issue at hand...

What's the best way to adjust our lifters. My cylinder 2 has a small problem as in either the pushrod is too long, or the lifter is lifting a little too much.

When I disassembled my heads I knew I would find SOME valvetrain damage, I had a small tick that was getting worse before the engine went, but what I found was that the exhaust valve on cylinder 2 (Middle cylinder driver side) was being driven so far by the rocker arm that the retainer was actually lashing against the stem seal and ruined both the seal and the retainer. Both were replaced, but I just want to avoid this happening again...
