V6 - V8 Swap

calling someone an idiot for wanting to do something you don't hold to be worthy isn't constructive criticism, just saying
I don't know what sort of power I want at the moment, I'm still throwing around ideas. The only reason I asked is because I had the chance to buy a 302, as a backup if my V6 blows, or until I got enough cash to rebuild it, I'm not trying to make any enemies here or **** anyone off. I said I didn't want a 4.6 because they're everywhere around here. But they are all stock, I didn't say it was out of the picture completely because they're too common, because I'm going to build it. I am also not dumping this money into this car because I want to. I love the car too much to get rid of it, I need to.
but seriously though, I just needed an answer on the T5 bolting up to the 302 for this thread, and I got the answer, that's it it's done, no more. The only thing that's going to be accomplished from here on out is going around and around about what was already said
EDIT: also, just to be clear
sorry if I pissed anyone off with that last post, I got home from work last night and was (and still am) in one of the worst moods of my short and ****ty existence and that was a little bit of venting off some anger from other stuff, hope you all understand

Well, it's now very clear that you have no idea what you want. First you need to figure that out. Once you have a goal, make a plan of steps to get there. Until then, don't worry about a motor swap or anything of that nature.
And just b/c you mentioned it, you said you HAVE to spend money to keep the car... there is no reason to upgrade anything based on that feeling/goal/want. If anything breaks, often times the best route is a direct replacement part.
The 'idioit' (and similar) comments were because you hinted at a goal of power gain, then asked about plans/swaps that were going backwards in power. We see TONS of threads in this section from people trying to short cut or doing something they THINK will work, when it doesn't. Quite frankly, we're sick of them.

Looking at doing an Engine Swap
I have a 2001 V6 5-speed, I'm looking at putting a 4.6L vin X in and I was wondering what I needed to do to the trans to make it work with the V8?, I have a 4.6 out of an 2001 GT with Computer and wiring harness, just need some advise on the trans, I also have an 8.8 rear end. Any advise would help.

You will need a trans specific to whichever motor you go with, 4.6 you will need a trans out of a 4.6, 5.0 to 5.0, etc...... I'm not positive but you might need the driveshaft from whatever the trans comes out of as well.
Another major thing, you will NOT be able to just pull out the v6 and drop in the v8, you need the entire crossmember from a 4.6 car. The whole mount setup is different. Sounds like you have the most important parts already though with the motor and harness.

Transmissions aren't specific to any engine. As long as the bell housing will bolt to both the trans and engine and the input shaft matches the pilot bearing it will work.
This is how the T5 is used in the 2.3L, 5.0L, and in the 3.8L.
