Noise after new clutch
Hey guys new to the forums
So i just got a LUK clutch installed in my 02 v6 and its silky smooth , now the issue is as soon as I left the shop the car ran fine in first gear as soon as i pop it into second gear there is a noise like metal ***** rattling or jingling there is no noise in any other gear and the car runs silky smooth. I took the car back to the shop he looked over everything and said there seems to be nothing wrong and can't seem to figure it out. We put in new fluid in the tranny when it was dropped and checked it for shavings but there was nothing there. The flywheel has been resurfaced and a new throwout bearing installed as well as the previous one was broken in half.
Any ideas ?

Yeah clutch chatter is there but this is different it sounds like a piece of metal jiggling around, the guy at the shop said it could be something internal in the tranny its just i have no idea how a perfectly good transmission would start having an issue after a new clutch

So it turned out to be the synchros that were worn down getting those changed and the seals done for 600 , i still find it really odd that the synchros would go right after a clutch change. Any opinions on this guys ?

The probably dropped the transmission or slammed it into something when doing the install, because a clutch install does not involve anything more with the transmission then removing it from the frame to gain access to the clutch which is located on the back side of the motor.

yeah i guess thats what happened in the end i ended up shelling out 800 to get new synchros and bearings put in , no noise now although there is some whine but the tranny dude said it should go away after a few hundred km

Trust me i wanted to do the same, the only problem being i couldn't be without a car and didn't want to get into an argument with the dude since he claimed he did two years in the pen lol and i had about 3 grand worth of car audio in the car

btw thats a beautiful mustang you got in your picture, and you seem to know your cars so a quick question for you i have been looking at these long tube headers on sale at americanmuscle.com purely on the basis of the exhaust tone. Do they make that big of a difference i have a true duals right now on mine magna flow throughout.
