Testing Fuel Pump/Wire harness colors
I am working a 2000 V6 mustang that has a no start condition (crank but will not fire). It has spark.
The car has about 87K miles on it, and I'm suspecting the fuel pump. I found a harness plug near the fuel tank that has 7 pins/wires. I want to run 12V to it and see if I can hear the fuel pump operate. I need to know which wires to test.
Can anyone point me in the right direction or tell me other tests to try? I did check the safety switch in the trunk to see if it was accidentally tripped but it was not.
Thanks

I just had a friend turn the key on while I listened near the fuel pump, and for a few seconds I did hear a whine.
There is a little valve on the fuel rail with a black cap. We stuck in a screwdriver thinking fuel would squirt out, but we got nothing, it barely seeped out.

So I tested for voltage at the plug for the fuel tank and this is what I came up with.
Looking at the plug, there are 7 pins. If you look at it like this:
If they are number liked this:
1 2 3 4
5 6 7
I get 11V at pin 4 and 5 volts at pin 7.
The battery is brand new. Would this point to a bad CCRM not supplying a full 12V to the fuel pump or do you think the fuel pump would still work with that voltage and the fuel pump is bad? I do hear a brief whine by the tank when the key goes to the "On" position.
