Thumbs down no oil on my dipstick??

i just did a clutch job on my 99 v6 and had the front of the engine lifted up for ir to access the bell housing bolts. after reassembly and an oil change it moves so the clutch is good but oil isnt registering on my dipstick. 4.5 quarts of synthetic were put in by me. before anyone asks; yes the filter was changed and no there are not two orings on it. im afraid to add too much oil to it. and when the tranny is in neutral the rpms drop to like 450, but i think thats just the brand new clutch grabbing a little. please help me find my oil!!

No leaks anywhere? Is 4.5 the proper amount?

It's kind of silly, but are you sure you pushed the oil dipstick in all the way? The dipstick itself isn't getting backed up on anything?

silly as it sounds, that is possible because it was tough to put in...

Possibly crazy...is it possible the oil got into my coolant system?

That could happen if you have a bad head gasket (I think), or regardless of how it could happen it is possible.
