Default Stack racing CAI install issue for '02 V6

I just bought a cold air intake from Stack racing on Americanmuscle but I am having some troubles to install it. For the most part it was fairly easy, until I had to install the rubber 3" to 3.5" adapter. It's way too small... I have seen on the review on AM that some peoples used hot water to stretch it to make it fit, and that helped to connect it to the lower 3.5" tubing, but I still can't connect it to the upper 3" tubing.
I gave up cause I needed to go to work and so I had to borrow my gf's corolla to drive (grrr.... :S), but I am wondering if anyone else had any issue with it and how they managed to fix it?
I am thinking of going to an auto part shop to see if they'd have a rubber adapter that would actually fit the damn thing (seems unlikely they'd have such a specific part though)...

Thoughts?

Looks like you're having a very hard time for very minimal gain.. Hope you get it fixed though. Have you contacted the seller??

Yeah I am considering returning it if I can't sort it out by the end of tomorrow.
I contacted AM and I am waiting for a reply from their tech support.

If you want a nice kick in the azz mod go with some gears.. Send it back and put it towards some 410's!

I have the same cai on my stang. The upper piece at the throttle body was a p.i.t.a. I ended up taking a hairdryer and holding the coupler with pliers and heatinfg it up and stretching it a bit. After some work, I was able to finally get it on completely. Now I just wonder what I am going to do once I step up to a 65mm tb.
