windstar 4.2 is FWD, wont work, F/E 150 4.2 with windstar upper will, so will an eaton m90 supercoupe set up.

or you could just mill the heads slap on the 99-04 gaskets with arp studs and call it a day on your stock motor

If i mill my heads, i wont gain much right? The windstar upper will give me more gains? I just dont want to waste money on something and then it not be worth it.

no just milling the heads will pt you back to stock when it goes back together, it wont get you power, but it will get you a running car

As stated the 5.0 conversion would cost much more than just selling your car and getting a Mustang GT/LX/GTS.

Jthorn is exactly right. I'm doing a 4.6 swap in my 95 Mustang (I know all of you are going to tell me it's stupid, but I wanted to do it anyway for many reasons ), and in the process I have needed:

Engine
Trans
Driveshaft
Rear end
Cluster
Wiring harness INCLUDING the dash harness
Hydroboost setup
Exhaust
ECU

And on top of that, since everything in my car was original at 155k miles, I also have needed all new brakes and suspension. Expensive and extensive project? Oh hell yes. But now that it's nearing completion it will be completely worth it. I started gathering parts last July and started the swap in October. I expect to be done by June.

It's not as easy as most people think and I'm not surprised most people quit halfway through. But with enough time, money, and patience, anything is possible.
