Need your tech help with engine swap!
I have a 3.8 V6 2000 Ford Mustang. I want more horsepower. I am thinking on swapping it for a V8. What all has to be done? What are the costs? I am looking to save some money but I know things will add up. I am doing this over time so a timeline as to what to install first, next and so forth would be extremely helpful.

This is a very common question in this section. Use the search feature and the answers you will find sound like this:
"If you have to ask, it's over your head."
"More money than it's worth - sell your car and buy a V8 or build the V6 to the same power level for cheaper."
"Cheapest way to do it is buy a wrecked GT and swap everything over yourself."
Easiest way is swap engine, main harness, trans, rear axle, front suspension, dash cluster, ECU, brake boost set up..... And all that for less power and trouble than just adding a basic supercharger to your current V6.
Don't forget to let your insurance know it's now a V8. If you don't, it's insurance fraud and jail time. Also, make sure the V8 is from the same model year or newer, otherwise it's not street legal in the US.

EPA federal regulation...nation wide law that supercedes local law. I only post this because as of late, insurance companies are deciding to NOT cover illegally modified vehicles (saves them a lot of money) and then technically you are un insured on the road. They will look for any violation that they can find, from non-DOT headlights/housings, tail light tint, engine swaps, exhaust mods/pollution control removal etc....
