Default K&N Filter Swap ?? Good or Bad

im thinkin about just removin the silencer and bolting on a k&n air filter to the end of it.. for about 50$ or i can go buy a CAI off mrbodykit for 89$.

Does the K&n swap make a power / sound difference? also tryin to go cheapest way out dont want to spend 300$ on a full K&N System

Referring back to the thread you started on the same topic everyone has already told you there would be no noticeable difference from a k&n DROP IN filter (nothing is bolting to the end of anything) and a cold air intake.

You will get a little better throttle response, but not a huge gain. The best thing to do is drop in the new filter, remove or modify the silencer. I just cut most of the horn off with a big pair of scissors for the stock look. I didn't want the gap there between the air intake and the fender. Another useful mod is a strut tower brace. I bought a used one for $25 and it really helped sturdy up the front end. I didn't buy it for performance reasons, only for driveability. You'll probably get 1 or 2 mpg's with the K&N too, well worth the money, mine came with the "recharge" kit and everything to clean it. GL

Cheesy paint edit but that's about how much I cut off the horn, maybe a little more, I just measured the gap and trimmed the rubber to my liking.

EXACTLY!! It's that easy lol drop in filter and just remove the silencer. You can cut it as pictured but I'd just remove it. That way if you ever plan to put it back on to sell the car or whatever you have it.
