Engine service light Intermittent running rough
Hi,
New to the site here. So, my wifes 2002 V-6 mustang has had the engine service light come on recently. She tells me that sometimes she starts the car up and it runs rough and the engine service light will come on. The light then goes out and the car runs fine. It is very intermittent.
Does anybody have any ideas?
Thank you,
Shawn

Yeah, if you dont disconnect the battery or anything, sometimes it will store it in the memory, a specific one i had, P1130 sat in the memory although my CEL wasn't on. I have a handheld tuner and was messing around with it, and the code was sitting there but no CEL, i thought maybe my bulb was out in the cluster, then like a week later it came on. Turns out my PCV valve on the passenger side was out. lol

Well, I went to autozone and the codes it gave out are 301 and 316
301: Cylinder misfire detected -cylinder number 1
Ignition system fault-spark plug, ignition wires, coil.
Vacuum leak
Injector fault
High or low fuel pressure.
316 Crank sensor position sensor signal is monitored for errors.
Crank sensor defective
Check connector and wiring to sensor
Check trigger wheel for damage.
Now the thing is, this has only happened a couple of times and it lasts for like 5 seconds and is fine.
Which do you think would be most likely the problem?
Thank you,
Shawn
