Hi I just bought a 98 v6 with 107k miles. I noticed that when accelerating you can here the fuel injector clicking. Is this normal? Sounds exactly the same as my friends 96 f150 4.9l. Pretty sure its the injector and not a valve tick although I haven't looked to close into it yet

Car runs great just passed smog today no check engine light or anything

Any ideas?

I'll take a better look tomorrow just wasn't sure if 3.8's had any common tick/click noises

Things to do tomorrow:
-Change Air Filter (pretty dirty)
-Sea Foam (have a can here so mind as well use it)

I've got a 2009 V6, and it does the same thing. Not all the time, but there are times where it's just insanely loud. I took it in to a dealer and two different people told me that yes, it was normal for the injectors to sound like that. I guess it's more of an annoyance than anything else at this point.
