1999 mustang will not start
I have a 1999 Mustang 3.8, I drove it last week and had no problems. The car was parked for about four days and when I tried to start it up it would not fire. The engine was turning over, but not starting. I tried jumping it just in case the battery was low but that wasn't it. I listened a couple times to make sure the fuel pump was kicking on. The first time I heard nothing, but the second time I know I heard it kick on. I then changed the fuel filter, but still the same thing; engine turning over, but not firing. Next, I changed the plugs and wires, and cleaned the throttle body. It is starting now but will not stay running. It will idle for 5-10 seconds then die, or if gas pedal is pressed it dies. I am thinking I should change the coil since changing plugs and wires got some progress, but I'm also wondering if the fuel pump is going bad and just hasn't quit completely.
Any ideas?

You can test this easily.
Start by checking all the fuses that control your spark and fuel.
TO TEST SPARK:
Open up your manual and pull the fuse for your fuel pump (or unplug it)
Then take the spark plug wire or coil, remove it and lay it next to soemthing it can ground to. Have someone start the car and see if that coil is discharging a spark to ground. You can do this to all of them if you want. If they spark then they are good.
TO TEST FUEL:
Then with the pump plugged in and everything back to normal you can check your fuel pressure at the schrader valve on the fuel rail if you have a gauge, some auto parts stores have a fuel pressure tester. It is easy to you. All you do is screw it on. Then turn the key to KOEO (Key on Engine off or all the way to the right without starting it)
The gauge should give you a new reading. If it is low or if the pressure increases to slow (it should almost be instant) Then change your fuel filter and fuel pump.
Good luck.
