Default exhausts and noise quality

I got a 2001 v6 mustang that I want to add enough noise to make it more noticeable and fun, but not annoyingingly loud where it will annoy me listening to music with my windows down and my sub on. I also want it to have a nice sound, and be relatively cheap.
I've heard about glasspacks, do those sound good, and can you get ones that aren't extremely loud.
Also is there another easy way to increase some noise, by replacing/ modifying somethign other than the muffler?
Anyone whose done this before got reccomendations? or techniques for replacing?

Get some long tube headers, that will eliminate two cats which will make it sound better and give you a decent bump in power

Long tubes are nice, and add dual exhaust with Mufflers that sound the best to you

id say avoid the headers you wont see much gain just go off road x pipe or h pipe and borla, magnaflow or whatever muffler you prefer. have exhaust shop give you a quote shouldnt be to much

Try open y-pipe. I liked it. Just spent 600 on a magnaflow conversion, it isnt too loud

thanks, yeah, i thought about doing long tubes, but It looks pretty hard, and lots of work, I'd like something I can do rather easily, like cut off the muffler and weld on a new one under my car. Keep the ideas coming.
