Default Newbie with a repair question (Isn't that always the case?)

Hi all,
I just recently bought a 2004 3.9 v6 and in desperate love with my "new" baby. Unfortunately it has been determined that I need to replace the passenger side exhaust manifold. Since I have never done this before I was wondering if there are any specific tools or hints that may help me learn how to not jack this up?

Thanks!

Nothing special is needed. It's fairly straight forward. If I remember correctly this is how it went when I did mine.

remove entire air box/tube
Remove plug wires
remove egr tube at the front.
get under car
remove two nuts for mid/down pipe
loosen lower end of egr from top or bottom so it will swivel if you can get to it
take out bolts on top
I can't remember if it came out the top or bottom. if it comes out the top, you are good to go at this point. if it comes out the bottom you'll have to take mid pipe off. to do this you would take the other two nuts off from the bottom of the driver side manifold, take the two bolts out from the back of the mid pipe where it connects to the catback. This will let it drop low enough to take the o2 sensors out with a wrench. If you have to do this, try not to let it hang by the o2 sensor wires.

gt281 pretty much got it. The other thing I would recommend is getting a good set of metric deep well sockets, penetrating oil and a bunch of patience. When re-assembling, put some (copper) anti-sieze on the threads of all the nuts/bolts you unscrew so it will come apart easier the next time.

Good luck...
