so i went crazy again today and was on craigslist trying to see if anyone would trade my car - found a guy 30 miles away with a v8 so went to check it out, long story short he was sketch as hell and the car was a piece....so i promptly got back in my car and headed home (i think he was a dealer, he had like 5 cars for sale yet lived in a trailer home :S )

however on the way home while I was driving on the highway, my check engine light came on - and now im like wtf?? do u think he did something to my car? i'm kinda scared my car has been running flawlessly since i got it, and now i got a light....i looked under hood and from what I can tell everything looks okay, and btw i did get a new muffler couple weeks ago....

so what do u guys think is up? what should i do?

First thing would be to find out what the code is. Take it to a autoparts store if you do not have a tuner. Without knowing what code came up, it could be anything.

yep, heading to autozone as soon as it opens....god i swear if that guy messed with my car im gonna be so pissed....and he just texted me, 5am, "i really like your mustang, do you still want to trade?" why is he so eager to trade? if u read my other thread u see his car needs a lot of work, new seats, and its got a badly rusted hood....and my stangs in pristine condition minus check light from last night...and he is all talking like "yeah i think this camaro would be great for you..." and he looked sketch as hell....i'm so done with craigslist lol.

First off, unless you left him alone with your car, he couldn't have done anything, second if you did leave him alone with your car then not a smart move ever. If the car is running fine still I doubt he did anything. That light could be all kinds of things.

I got the checked out, the code said vacuum leak, or misfire or fuel injector problem....put in some lucas fuel system cleaner, and within an hour the lights gone

however new problem - on the way home it started storming and i turned on my wipers and my headlights, and after a while my right turn signal came on and it just stays on and steady - when i turn the lights off it goes away....whats up with that? fuse problem probably? the right blinker does work though, it stays on when headlights are on :S

ya i did for a bit, but logically thinking, not enough time for him to change anything.

Only problem now is my right blinker doesn't work when my headlights are on.

meh - the lights and blinkers work fine today - idk what was up yesterday...it was raining hard, so maybe some water got in and messed things up? either way i'm happy
