I Need Power
i have a 2000 mustang 3.8L its has a full cat back exhaust and, cold air intake. This is the first mustang i have owned that i could actually work on. What is going to give me the biggest bang for my buck? I don't want to dump a ton of money at once i want to work on this slowly but would like to do something that i would be able to notice any suggestions. i have around 500 to drop in to it at this moment

I'd say go with a tuner. I finally got mine all set up, and it's easily the best $380 I've ever spent on the car. It will be able to take advantage of your CAI. Plus accelerating WOT is much better with the adjusted firm shift points.

I've said this all too many times, but for big power that's the best bang for the buck go with a supercharger. Best upside is they're easy enough to remove if you decide to sell the car and recoup money off of them as opposed to lost money in other mods.
Gears are also a good mod, won't give any power but will wake up the car a little. But you'll need a tuner to recalibrate the speedo, and it would be a wise idea to get a limited slip differential. But All of this will add up into around a $1000 project.

When you say tuner, do you mean dyno tuning or something else?
