i've talked on and off about getting gears and various upgrades, and it seems like gears would help me the most and i am damn tired of how bad my acceleration is. so a few questions
1. is it okay to get gears without a t-lok? i can't afford to do both atm, and i don't race i just want better acceleration during stop and go driving like red stop lights where i am getting beeped at by toyota corollas.
2. what exactly is a gear change? is it changing out the gears in the transmission? sounds like a big job, can not using stock gears damage my car? How many hours of labor would it take the mechanic (he is 70$/hr)
3. these are what i have decided to order, are they compatible with my 98 v6 stang and should work smoothly? (i do need 4.10 gears right?)

also it recommends i need a speedo recalibration tool, can i just use a speedo gear? if so, how many tooth speedo gear should i get? whats the difference in number of teeth? i notice for 98 v6 they make 19, 20 and 21 teeth speedo gears.
