Default A small miracle? (window motor)

It was a window motor with the regulator

My car's driver side window would NOT go up!

The motor was apparently dead from the window so it wouldn't go up or down. A guy tried to jump start it, and it still didn't work, so I needed a new window motor + regulator. The guy ordered it, and I'm going to put it on Monday

So far so good. Then all of a sudden I tried out of nowhere to put the window up and it worked! I shut off my car to see if it was a fluke, and it still worked. It was a miracle. What do I do now though? The poor guy ordered the piece.

Should I just go ahead and get the new window motor anyway if this already happened? I mean if I don't I'm saving $200

Our window motors develop dead spots. Opening/closing the door or driving "nudged" the motor past its dead spot. It will probably work for months or even years.

Or, it might fail in the down position during a rainstorm.

Do yourself the favor and just switch it out.

It will do it again. If you have already ordered it then change it out. If it happens again before you get it changed out, the just give the inside of the door a good hit near the speaker while holding the button in the up position.

Don't laugh to long you will be changing it. What you are experiencing is nothing new. It will get worse. I know this because I just changed mine out last month for the same problem.

If you're not going to take the advice of every single person on this thread, why bother posting the question?

My passenger side window did this for a while. It would work one day, and the next it wouldn't. It finally died for good within a few weeks of starting that. I would say go ahead and replace it, since IRS probably on it's way out and you don't want to be stuck with a window that wont go up if it starts raining or something.
