Default Rear end groan/sound

So, I have the tranny disconnected and rear end lifted, and when i turn the rear passenger wheel, I can hear like a groaning/very low howl/ rotating noise as it turns, can really hear it when your driving at low speed, or even when I have it in gear 1 or 2.

the driver side wheel like doesnt really move at all almost, and i can spin it and it sounds like a regular wheel should.

Rear diff problems? Sounds just as bad on right passenger wheel as turning the circular piece where the driveshaft mounts.

Could it just be low on fluid? I see where there might have been a bit of leaking (at the wheel end actually, so better chance of it being a wheel bearing).
