Default fuel mystery

I have a 99 v6 auto vert. when I fill it up with gas it seems to go down rather quickly until it reaches the 3/4 mark. I looked up under the general area of the filler pipe and the tank. There is no noticable smell or evidence of gas leaking.
Has anyone had a problem with this ??

If it just sits and the gas disappears its either a leak or a thief.

I have the same problem. I've realized my gauge is off due to the fact that when I fill her up on empty I still have three to four gallons left. Idk if might be your problem too

No, no. Fuel pump pumps fuel. And yes additives can break down deposits to help fuel pumps pump. That as nothing to do with fuel level indication.

There is a variable resistor plate with wiper arm attached to a float on the top of the fuel module. That resistor plate is subject to a bit of wear. I guarantee no additive in the world will replace what is worn away. Its also possible your float is a bit 'waterlogged'. No additive will fix that either.

If you want to open the tank, pull out the fuel module and replace the brush card and the float on the fuel level sender, that will improve your fuel indication accuracy. If not, no problem. Drive it as is. Have a nice day.

zip.
