Default STP Fuel system cleaner...

I was told it was the best on the market right now. Im looking to get it because my earlier post was on horrible mpg (around 14.5 on a stock V6 manual!) and so I was told look into getting injector cleaner it could help my problem. But it says on the bottle it will clean all the fuel system so is this the right/good stuff for my ride? Its a 99 stang.

STP is a very good product. I prefer the Chevron Techron. IMHO it is the best the public can buy. But STP is definatly right up there as far as quality goes.

Put it this way, it couldn't hurt. No guarantees if it will solve the problem. Sorry

Yes, tire pressure can effect the fuel milage, but not by very much. A tune-up, now that's a diferent critter. It can REALLY effect fuel milage. If you're gonna do it, do it right. AutoBadges carries good quality stuff. Don't go cheap. If you do, it can cause more problems than the saveings you may have had.

Replace the Spark plugs, Cap and rotor(if equiped), PCV Valve, Air filter, and Fuel filter. Check the wires for any damage. Look for any breaks in the insulation, white marks along the wire, discoloration on the boots, corrosion inside the boots. Also, make sure there are no brittle areas on the wires. Also look at the connection points on the coil if it's distributorless ignition. Clean any corrosion on them.

Well, there are diferent levels. Basic 6 cyl at the shops I use to run was 79.95. For that we did the plugs, most fuel filters, and air filter. And we would check the rest. If you needed other parts, it was extra. The amount depended on price of parts, abd AllData's est of time. Personally, I do my own.
