If you have a stage one clutch, you will need a firewall adjuster. Make sure the quadrant is not broke sometimes they need to be replaced with metal ones. I would get a new adjustable cable. I hope you did not put the pressure plate on back wards.

I don't know what stage clutch it is how do I tell?? Also I looked at the quadrant and i'm pretty sure it's not broke.

I recently had the same question dawson my mustang doesnt want to shift correctly while the engines running and i have no idea. I was wondering if you could make a video on youtube. dawson you seem to be an expert on this situation because u also replied to my thread about clutch diagnosis but if thats not your choice i still appreciate your advice on the reply you wrote and this thread also.
