I much prefer a stick. The biggest issue I had with my last car (which I loved) is that it was an auto. When I took my Mustang for a test drive, just to see if I wanted a stick, I felt right at home with the clutch again and couldn't ever see getting my next car in an auto.
As for, "Does anyone like autos?" You betcha. Most cars, most Mustangs, are autos and I don't think you'll have any problem finding a next buyer (someday) that will want an auto. Most people don't race their Mustangs but just drive around and are very happy.

I don't prefer automatic, but I don't look down my nose at it anymore. I was hesitant to buy to my 02 TA, but having had it for a while now has changed my opinion of automatics. The question itself I think is a young man's question. As a young man, I never would have considered an automatic for any kind of sports car. But now, if I like everything else about the car, an automatic transmission would not be a deal breaker...

I love my auto mustang. For my standard shift fix, I just drive my F150.

Not knockin' your setup but that just seems a little backwards.

Personally, I like my automatic. My Mustang is my daily driver. For the stop and go traffic in my commute, automatic is just easier. Plus I have a kid, and kids are somewhat distracting, so having one less thing to worry about only helps.

Just remember, the manual cars are base model and the auto was a $900 upgrade. If you think of it that way, you didnt "settle" for an auto.

settling for something means it wasn't your primary choice.

Yeah, the CALL it an upgrade because who would pay more money for a downgrade?

Maybe this will help explain it. The Mustang was given to me as a birthday gift and I already had the F 150.
