2000 3.8 Mustang wont fail
So my daily driver is a 2000 Mustang V6 that I bought brand new back in Oct 2000. This car has been extremely reliable (knock on wood). Was wondering if this seems to be the norm or whether iv just been lucky. The car has 161000 miles on it and to this date the only repairs outside of brakes, tires that iv done is the following:
Alternator
Battery
Water Pump
Inner tie rod p/s
Calipers all around
D/s door hinge
Considering 13 years and 160k miles Id think thats pretty good. How has everyone else's luck been with these cars?

these run strong. mine is at 121,xxx still drives like it was at 61,xxx.
i only replaced cam shaft sensor, radiator, belts, all fluids, brakes, couple fuses, battery.
But overall very happy with the reliability of the ol' stang.

yeah I have done 2 tune ups but that was preventive maintenance. the car has never had a single misfire. Maybe my best purchase ever back in 2000. Not a V8 but I got a 1991 Firebird 5.7 vert full of mods and completely restored that is my 12mpg summer fun blow the doors off most car....

I got 156k. I've changed the battery, water pump, heater core, performed tune ups, oil changed. Now, its important to note that I had to replace the clutch, flywheel, and diff. But these were only because I was VERY hard on the car when I got it at the age of 18.

99 Stang with 3.8
Mine has 128,000 miles on it, and has been the best car I have ever had - I bought is used when it had about a year on it, a previous rental. It has the 4 wheel ABS - disc brakes - I only wish it had the traction control - I love that option!
Has needed very few repairs, an alternator and a battery is all that comes to mind, and brakes once.

Close to 100k miles. had it for five years and yesterday was the first major thing to go wrong... Fuel pump stopped working. Luckily its fixed now. Doing good for a 13 year old car that used to be part of a rental fleet apparently.
