Have you swapped out battery?
Tried starting while jumped?
Checked grounds at battery and such?
Does 2001 have the PATS security setup? Check that out maybe.
My blazer did something similar to me..it would crank all day and stumble...security system screwed up in the body module...had to have it reset...not sure if PATS is similar...but just a guess.
I am just tossing out ideas from the top of my head....you may have done those things.
