Constant Control Relay Module Question
Hey I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the resistance reading I should be seeing from my 2001 V6 3.8L Mustang Constant Control Relay Module is and which pins I should be checking for this resistance reading? On a forum I found elsewhere about the test procedure for a CCRM (mind you this is on a Taurus Car Club forum since I couldn't find the procedure for mustangs and have been told by some people those two cars are pretty much the same, but I have my doubts which is why I'm asking here), it says I should be getting around 1.4 MegaOhms, but if we were testing it right, then my CCRM needs to be replaced. Of course, it wouldn't really surprise me since the manufacture date is February 23, 2001. lol
After several months of my mustang not having its issues of not wanting to start, it finally has hit me and hit hard this time. At the moment, both me and my husband have tested out the PCM harness by checking the power feeds to the PCM on pins 71 and 97. We didn't get any voltage with the key on. All grounds are good though. Is there a certain or correct way to test it or is connecting the red lead to each post while the black lead is connected to a ground the right way with a ohmmeter/voltmeter?
On the directions I got to diagnose this, it says if there is no voltage says to check the PCM power relay and circuits. Just so I'm understanding this correctly, the PCM power relay is inside the CCRM? There really isn't any good information out there about this. :/ Also would the circuit it is talking about consist of the Throttle Position Sensor, Differential Pressure Feedback EGR sensor, and Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor (which I assume is also called the Fuel Rail Pressure Transducer?)? If so then we tested the first in that and it tests good which supposedly indicates that the circuit is fine and the problem lies elsewhere.
Anyways, we're going to test some more stuff tomorrow on this, but I just want to make sure we are doing this the right way and aren't testing it wrongly causing us to get inaccurate readings, then replacing something that isn't broken yet. Thanks for any assistance in advance. n_n
