2002 GT but v6?
Hi, I am going to buy a Mustang 2002 from private owner.
The owner said it is GT model but has v6 3.8l engine.
I searched but all GT models seem to have V8 engine.
Is there special option to have V6 engine for GT model?
Thanks

It's a V6 with GT badges on it.
Ford makes 3 levels of Mustangs
V6
GT
Cobra
Each has its unique features.
V6s are the entry level option, all come, obviously, with a V6 engine. Some may come with leather seats, Mach 460, visual upgrades, etc. But they're still a V6.
GTs come standard with a 4.6L engine, 8.8" rear end, limited slip differential, and come with the same upgrade options as the V6s plus the Mach 1000 option.
Cobras come with an upgraded 4.6L 4V engine, (03/04 supercharged), Mach 460 (mach 1000 option), special seats, and a few other unique cues depending on year.

Well, up until. 1994 the GT moniker designated an appearance package and not the engine size
So technically it could be a V6 GT if the owner put the complete GT appearance package on the car
