Default what is this under my dash?

So there is this little black box under my dash. It has a button on the back and a blue LED on the front. It is about the size of the middle digit of my middle finger(5'11 180lbs, normal size hands) I'm on mobile right now so i cant post a picture but I will later tonight.

I would guess it's the valet switch for an aftermarket alarm.

Do you happen to be an international spy? Looks like a homing device to me. Sorry couldn't resist.
