Default AC and heat problem 2008 'stang

So here's my story.. about 5 years ago I bought my first 2008 Mustang from a used car dealership and it has been running perfectly fine up till now.. Currently I have no heat and no AC in my vehicle for the past 2 summers and 2 winters (it's been hell!) but the fan will still blow air from the outside. Now from what I can tell (and I'm no expert to this) the compressors not kicking in at all. So naturally 2 summers ago I took it back to the dealership to see if they could fix it, and after waiting 2 hours and $200 later in their waiting area (yes ridiculous I know) told me it's the Smart box. So okay! let's fix it!... Waited almost an entire month for this box to come in because they "lost" it in shipping (BS), it FINALLY ARRIVED! Took my car back to find out!!! This "smart" box doesn't work?!?! By now I'm fed up!!!, they tear open my car after another 4 hours and tell me the electrical set up of my car (can't think of the actual legit name of it) is a 2007 set up not a 2008 set up, and need a new computer..that's going to put me at $1,000 to repair. So till this day no heat and no AC, so I guess my real question boils down to 2, is it even worth fixing this Mustang of mine and secondly, can anybody ever find out what is wrong with this car?

I had a similar problem in my 06 Volvo S40 after dumping about $600 for some "mechanic" to "fix it". It would work for about 10 minutes at a time and then you'd have to wait an hour before it'd blow cold air again. The mechanic ended up saying I'd need a new ECU, which was going to be about $2000. So that's why I'm here today. Though I'm not sure what the cause of your problem it could be a similar scenario
