98 mustang wont start its stuck on acc mode
I go and try to start my 98 mustang and my ignition feels loose so my first thought was to switch out the igintion assembly once i did so it didnt fix anything so im stump i cant drive it or even start it please help im trying to sell this car ,

I had the exact same problem as you. I am willing to bet its the ignition actuator. There is a plastic rod the runs down the steering column and its job is to push the ignition switch into the different positions when you turn the key. To combat this, or to just rig it so you can drive your car is simple. Underneath the dashboard on the drivers side is the ignition switch. There are two screws holding it in place. If you remove them and drop the box down you can change the ignition position by hand. Hope this help!

That explanation hit the nail dead on the head. I second the diagnoses, I will also add that I'm not sure if the 98 has a chipped key or not but if so make sure you have the key in the cylinder if you try the manual fix or the security will trip out. If no chip in key then it wont matter. At that point the key just unlocks the door.
