I am experiencing a confusing number of things happening. I believe they re all related in one way at least. I have been trying to trouble shoot it by myself but I am at a loss now. Ill get to it. When I turn on my car go for a drive no check engine light but my rpms keep climbing intermittingly. I turned off the car after driving for like ten miles and turned it back on put it into first gear and started to go then it jerked really hard as if it slipped while in first gear then the check engine light came on again. . I can unplug the negative battery and it goes away till the next time it slips again.. I have cleaned the upper intake replaced the IAC and cleaned my MAF with half a can of MAF cleaner an not sure what else I can do. I have loss of power, hesitation, and chugging gas, and that slipping every once in a while, along with the check engine light on after it slips. any ideas? Can the clutch be the issue here?

How bout you stop guessing at it and go have the codes read to see why the cel is coming on.

If the CEL is illuminating then the computer is storing a code to help with the diagnosis. On the V6 mustangs they were OBDII and any autozone can read the codes for you.

Because with a the year I have you cannot simply go get the codes read. There needs to be a full diagnostics done and I don't have the money for that right now.

94 and up v6 mustangs are obdII, a code scanner will read the codes on your car. Tell them try it anyways. Whatever shop told you that just wants your money.

A shop didn't tell me that. I have taken my car to autozone before. There scanner doesn't work for my car. When I had an issue with the check engine light before, I took it to Autozone then Oriely's and then ended up taking it to Tunex and they ran a full diagnostics on it. Guess that's what I am going to have to do again.

If autozone or orielys cant read your codes they are doing something wrong, or you have a wiring problem.

While 94-95 mustang gt 5.0l are EEC-IV (obd-1),,
The 95 v6 is obdII compliant and should be able to pull codes with a simple hand held scanner.
