Default Replacing the a/c CCRM on an 04 V6

Hi! I have to replace the CCRM in my daughter's car and I found a used one on ebay with the same part number that I am going to order, but my question is when I go to replace it do I need to have the battery disconnected or anything else that might be required? I have tried to look online but it keeps taking me to the forums with out the answer I need so I thought I would just ask on here and see if anyone could help me out. Also I saw a post where someone had bypassed the CCRM. Does anyone know how to do that?
Thanks,
Tammie

Unhook the battery, unplug the old unit and hook up the replacement. It's pretty straight forward. By passing it sounds shady. The CCRM controls a few things that I wouldn't want bypassed.

Ok, cool thanks for the info I just didn't want to not unplug the battery if I needed to and vise versa.

Always disconnect the battery negative side when you work on a car. Its one of the first things that you learn or read about in any mechanics course, or book.

Do not try to bypass the ccrm it controls a lot of things, and bypassing it is asking for a fire or burnt wires.
