Yes it was definitely tuned, without a question. Or else it wouldn't be running like it did, or running at all. But how well it was tuned depends on the shop/tuner/software etc. That only he can answer. But you WILL need a tune there is no way around this.

The programmer/software you use will depend on local shops or region and what they prefer to tune with. Before the procharger I ran with a diablo sport flash tuner. But when going supercharged I had to give it up and switch to SCT because that's what all the shops in my area worked with.

So definitely find out what your local shops/tuners use before you buy a tuner etc.

Procharger claims 345hp(at the flywheel) for the 99+ V6 with the 11 psi kit. Accounting for the 20% drivetrain loss this comes out to around 290 something hp at the wheels. I think even their flywheel hp is a little optimistic though.

There are other variables that play into how much hp is made. Such as the tuner, climate, and other mods done to the vehicle etc. Dynos are not 100% accurate with their readings and generally read a little optimistic. The most Ive seen at the wheels on a dyno was 294 hp at the wheels. 300+ at the wheels is possible though. How much final hp you see at the wheels will also depend if youre running auto or man as obviously an auto will leech more power through the drivetrain.

I'm just wondering if on the wheels it was 280-290 how did it still get blown away by a stock Mach 1 that on the wheels it should be only 270 because the Mach 1's on the crank are only 305?

I have an automatic so would this fare well?
Used rear end from the GT's (99-04) 8.8 with 4.10 gears
Full exhaust...long tube headers, O/R H, MAC catback + tuner since it'll have a check engine light
Windstar Intake....will try and find the full intake kit somewhere somehow since it'll just bolt on as well
Procharger Stage II Intercooled

Anything else? UDP's are overrated. They do almost nothing, and seem like a complete waste

That setup would make some decent numbers for the car.

The GTO owner used to be a member here. The guys V6 had a problem venting the boost, it wouldnt hold it, hence being slow.

Sounds like poor wastegate/BOV choice.

Ford underated the hp. They actually made quite a bit more. Dont know the exact numbers but people claimed to have dyno'd them stock and put out higher numbers than Ford advertised. My guess would be that maybe Ford down played the numbers for insurance reasons. Dunno

Be careful Ive heard that the plastic windstar intakes can flex and crack. I could be wrong, but look into it.

Not sure where else I can find it cheaper than that...I've looked everywhere
