Default Which Decklid? need opinions.

Looking to possibly change things up on my sixxers look. I have three decklids all drilled differently.
99-00 wing
01-04 wing
undrilled

The car came with the 99-00 wing on it which I like cause its somewhat rare being only offered for two years.

The smooth decklid gives the car a sleek appearance and is extremely rare to see.

The 01-04 decklid I was thinking of installing the '00 Cobra R wing on as for the track but not sure if its really necessary. I would still have to track down and purchase the wing.

What should I do? The car is dark atlantic blue and has the bullitt quarter windows.

I think the "slick" look is better, it's closer to the classic body lines. The fins are kind of silly. You can fill in the holes with JB weld and use touch-up paint.

Why would I use JB weld? I could just install the wingless deck lid I have.

I was also thinking about having them all painted and just switching between the three.

What size tires are you running (rear)? To pull off the wingless look you'll need some wider tires in the back.

You don't need to fill in holes. Some other reader might.

Switching would work, but why bother? The wings change nothing but looks, they don't do anything for aerodynamics. And, as you mentioned, the slick look is far less common than the rice-rocket look.

The wings I am considering are the Cobra R or Steeda race wing. Both do more than "just looks" Even the stock 99-00 wing is designed to be slightly more functional over the 01-04 wing. I am just not sure how necessary they are for 95% of the courses the car will be used for, therefore any choice will be mostly for looks.

What do you plan on (or have) done to the car?

I am turning the car into a track car. I will be completely redoing the suspension front/rear, full belly pan w/rear diffuser, radiator will vent thru hood up over car... just little stuff

I see lots of claims by mfrs, but no test results.

And ask yourself if the Indy car guys would use all of that heavy bracing and drag to put the wings so high on their racers (which go far faster than a Mustang), if they could get effective aerodynamics down close to the car body.
