Bingo, unless you are doing a true dual setup don't spend the money on a dual tipped muffler. You'd be better to just get a single in single out flowmaster or similar to replace the single stock muffler.

Well, since they told me about the AP branded mufflers. I've been doing some research on them. They're made of thick heavy gauge materials, and provide a deep aggressive tone to the exhaust. My Dad had inquired about them from the mechanic, and was quite impressed by the quality of the muffler. I had found on Youtube a vid of a 2006 Dodge Charger with a 3.5 V6 under the hood. The car sounded great with just one of the XLerator VX Series mufflers. The VX has just one in and one out configuration like you've all suggested.
