Default Car bucks while driving

I did some searching on here and didn't find the symptoms that my car has been displaying.

After driving about 40 miles my car will begin to buck and sputter. If I turn the car off for about 5-10 seconds and back on, the problem is gone until another 40 miles.

Any ideas?

Car has new fuel pump, filter and battery in last 8 months.

Thanks

I had similar issues with my 2001 V6. Although I don't recall it changing after turning the car off it was missing and bucking. If I accelerated very easy the engine did not have the issue. No codes were displayed even though it was missing terribly at times. I had also changed many tune up items and really could not determine if it was fuel delivery or ignition. I was lucky enough to find some help in the forums and decided to change the ignition coil (about $70). That was my issue. Guess it had very weak spark and when trying to accelerate the spark did not fire properly. If your coil is stock that my be something to consider changing. I think if your car will (during the good 40 mile times) take hard acceleration then may not be coil. Good luck.

Could be a failing coil, after cooling off for a bit it goes to working okay again, then acts up once it's warm again.

Do NOT cut your cats off, that is 100% not your problem, a clogged cat will cause constant problems, cutting the car off for a few minutes would not resolve that issue. This is a sensor or something getting overheated.
