Default 2004 Mustand Delux coupe music changer questions

Ok, been researching this for a bit and Im trying to find out if there is any type of "digital" music changer/player (like the Yatour system) for our Mustangs, I have been looking with little success and any that I find for any type of Ford look to use a different pin set up, compaired to what I am guessing is either a 12 pin plug or a 16 pin plug, anyways does any one know of ANY thing that I can add after market and make to look factory that will allow me to have all my media on a SD card or USB drive with out having to modify the interior or worse modify the radio or the wireing to it? I want to keep the factory looks but have the ability to have digital music changer (if that makes sense)

Reason I ask is the sig others Volvo S80 had a system like this (I installed it my self) and I want to get something like this for the Mustang and even the F150 (it has an Aftermarket head unit that came with it when purchased so I am assuming that the wiring has been buggerd up)

anyways thanks for the help, and if needed I will post pics of the current head unit in the stang (if anyone has pics of the plugs on the back side that would help me a lot as I am having difficulty finding the proper type plugs for the unit I have and it seems Ford made multiple units

worst will be tomorrow I tear out the system and do exploratory surgery my self and find out...

I have a kenwood unit in the '96 with both a mp3 jack and usb port. Not sure of the wiring mess as it came with the car when i got it.

cool, im hoping to keep the wireing stock factory or buy adapters to go from Ford factory to what ever unit I pick as I want to be able to return it to factory stock if I ever have to get rid of the car.

Seeing as you have a Deluxe trim Mustang, any aftermarket head unit should swap in with almost no issues. You should be able to utilize the existing wiring and depending on the head unit you select, it may just require an harness adapter and a vehicle specific mounting kit. The exception to this is if you have the MACH version of Ford's stock audio system. But I do not believe the Deluxe trim has this.

Should be a straightforward swap then. Sounds like you just need to decide on a head unit and maybe speakers for a basic upgrade. When you decide on that, just need a wiring harness and a vehicle specific mounting kit.

crutchfield used to sell an adaptor to give an aux plug and ipod input to the factory stereo that you could hide in either the glove box or center console, then whenever you put it on cd without a cd in the headunit it would play the signal received from the adaptor.

As long as you do not have a Mach 460 sound system its pretty straight forward, will just need the headunit harness adaptor and the in dash mount kit. if you have the 460 setup then there are factory amps to deal with and an extra harness adaptor that needs to be wired in just right.
