never seen a bent crank, broke in half maybe, rods are always the weak link in a hydolock failure.

Weather is ****, so I have to wait. Car didn't always have this problem when starting, so I didn't worry to much, it was only a few times it happened, since I changed it. As for a fluid leak in the cylinder all summer, I doubt that. Car has sat for a week and started, and if there was an antifreeze leak, I would get a sweet smell from the exhaust, and a possible overheating issue. If it is a hydro lockup, I would assume it would be more from an open injector filling it. Until I check, hopefully tomorrow, we won't know. Until then, I will dream of a coyote in it, sit in it, and make my own engine noises! Thanks for the replies, send tissues, funeral pending!

You won't get hydro lock from fuel, it compresses, water/coolant does not.

liquid does not compress, no matter what kind of liquid. i have personally replaced 5.4l and 6.8l V8's with stuck injectors and bent rods due to fuel filled cylinders

Either way, haven't been able to check yet. Canadian weather sucks, been wet or too cold, and I have no shop at the moment, so it will sit for now. Will just have to locate a better engine, and a low cost shop that can do another transplant, or scrap the cursed POS. Looks great, as a lawn ornament! As for compressing gasoline, I agree, it is a liquid, not a gas, and can't be compressed!

Just to let you know, I managed to remove spark plugs, and found gas in the #6 cylinder, which caused it to hydro-lock. Fortunately, because the engine was never running when it locked, only cranked over, nothing was damaged. The engine runs, and have been driving it a few times, and no problems. Still has the problem, with starting up on the first try, but that's another issue I will solve later. Will change out injectors, and a few other components later to resolve that issue. Thanks for your help, sorry for the delay in the update.

u need to replace at least the #6 injector asap, as it is leaking and caused your fuel hydrolock, i have seen people wait too long, and the injector sticks wide open and then they bend rods
