Default 03 V6 Coolant and Heat Issues

I have an 03 V6 and am having trouble with the heat blowing cold. The temp gauge fluctuates a bit to the high side when it gets up to temp. The fan does kick on. I have to keep adding coolant to the bottle. It seems as though it is eating it sometimes.

I pulled the radiator cap off and the other day the coolant was full and all of a sudden it erupted out of the radiator for about 5 seconds. The car had been running for about 15 minutes and the coolant wasn't even hot. The over flow bottle was bubbling when I first started the car also.

When the engine has been running for a while the temp gauge does go to the high side, then the fan comes on and it drops a bit. I squeeze the radiator hoses and they don't seem to be under any pressure and are not hot at all. Im hoping its just an air bubble, but with having to keep adding coolant I'm not sure. There is no anti freeze smell or an excessive amount of water from the exhaust either.

There is a check engine light on too. Gonna go to Auto Zone to find out what it is.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like your thermostat is stuck closed and your coolant isnt flowing. Stop driving the car immediately before you blow a head gasket.
