Vibration Issue
#11
At over 300K, I would worry that pulling the heads might cause problems, or that there is a problem with the engine itself. USE PENETRATING OIL on ALL threads, and let it soak in a while. The last thing you want to do is break a bolt.
If the OP has the skill and tools, it is a good idea to at least pull the heads, but have them inspected before buying gaskets.

I had the engine replaced because it was trashed. I still have the d**n vibration issue though. I know I have an exhaust leak now around the passenger side because the old exhaust is rusted pretty bad. The mechanic said the vibration could be a bad iac or core pack. No check engine light is on. If I didn't love my car, I would have it turned into a small cube.

I replaced the IAC and the vibration is still there. I don't think I have a problem with the car in park as I originally stated. I'm beginning to think it is either something with the driveshaft, ujoints, or transmission. The transmission was flushed and it shifts fine.

I don't think they driveshaft has been touched. I was wrong when I said that the vibration doesn't in Park.
I took it to a shop and had the harmonic balancer replaced because it had a slight wobble. That did nothing and the vibration seems worse. The mechanic said he changed the idle because it was set way to high. The slight wobble is still there because the balancers do not come with the pulley. He said the wobble is so small that he didn't think it was causing the problem.
Two places told me they think the problem could be torque converter or flywheel is the problem. Can those cause problems while the car is in Park? I guess it makes sense because when I had the transmission mount replaced, the shop showed me that the old one had come apart and the transmission had a lot of play that it should not have had. I guess that had been going on for a while and could have damaged those components.
Anyway, it is going to be $800.00 to go in and replace those parts. Does that sound reasonable?
Mythos

Flywheels don't generally just go bad. Usually when they do you can hear them tapping other things as they wobble.
Where in VA are you?

Well, I have ruled out the flexplate and torque converter. The flexplate was replaced and the car was run briefly without the transmission and exhaust attached. The vibration was still present. This is very frustrating.
I am trying to find the pulley that bolts to the harmonic balancer because mine has a slight wobble. So far, all I can find are underdrive pulleys. I just want a stock one.
Hopefully, the pulley will take care of it.
