Mod suggestions or tips?
Recently purchased a 2002 base 3.8 mustang and I love it. Its only has had one owner and is in really good condition for being 13 years old. It was well taken care of. Its completely stock though and I would like to pep it up a lil bit. I put on a flow-master muffler on it, mainly just for the sound. It be a while before I can get a true duel exhaust. I would like to get a cold air intake next. What are some good brands I can trust other than K&N? (I know which cheap ones to stay away from) Also any suggestions for a decent tuner to go with it would be appreciated. I've learned to stay away from those chips from everything that I have read about them, mainly on here. I know a lil about cars but not much at all. Also any other tips on improving performance by doing a few other little things would be awesome. Thanks!!!

Here is my suggestion, and it kinda goes a bit off what the stickies say. You should do gears and CAI and dual exhaust, but don't forget about the brakes. I updated even just the front rotors and pads and it made a huge difference, not only in performance, but in safety as well. Just my two cents, but then again I also agree with everyone else on here how to make the 3.8's fun. Good luck!

How about you start a fund for your car with a goal of so much money, say $500.
Then challenge yourself to buy used or second hand only.
That $500 will go a long ways and you will become very familiar with what options you have as well as building your Buyer/Seller Rating.

CAI’s are a joke and a good example of false advertising. How could an open filter sitting next to a hot motor suck in cold air? There have been a bunch of dyno tests on YouTube showing that CAI’s don’t provide much if any performance benefits over stock intakes and in some cases decrease power.
If you do insist on getting a CAI, try to tuck it away somewhere like in the hole in the fender that the stock intake goes so it has a chance of getting cold air.

Hawk pads, design rotor tech slotted rotors, and stainless brake lines, and my 99 GT would out stop my factory Cobras
Other then that you have suspension bits and intake/exhaust/ tune you can do it it, and rear end gears of you want to spend the money
