Default Oil pressure problem

Oil blowing seal off oil filter on 97 Mustang V6 3.8. Put cheap oil in and added sea foam but can't run long enough for it to work. It pours out bad like it won't go past the filter. There is not an old gasket from a previous filter. I learned that years ago on my 68.

Aw, c'mon, that was gonna be my first guess... Alright, well hey welcome to the forum!

I'm thinking you might have a problem with the oil pressure relief valve. How many miles are on the car?

The reason I ask this is because the location of the relief valve. It's hiding behind the timing cover, and if you're going to open it up, you'll want to make some decisions about whether or not to replace other items while you're in there. The timing cover is behind the water pump and the harmonic damper/balancer. Of course, once it's open, the timing chain itself will be right in front of you, too.

It already has a knock now so I might as well pull the motor and do everything right.
